Arduino Lilypad
The LilyPad is a wearable e-textile technology that was creatively designed to have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing. Various input, output, power, and sensor boards are available. They're even washable! The LilyPad Arduino is a sewable electronic component that lets you build your own soft, interactive fashionable apparel. Perfect for electronic textile projects! We also carry conductive sewing thread (P/N: 2144489) for your projects.
The main board of the Lilypad Arduino contains an ATmega328 with the Arduino bootloader and a minimum number of external components to keep it as small (and as simple) as possible. The board will run from 2V to 5V. Do not provide it with more than 5.5V or you will likely kill it. The latest version of the LilyPad supports automatic reset for even easier programming. The back side of the LilyPad is now completely flat! It now uses a surface mount programming header to keep it from poking through. You will need a FTDI USB-TTL serial breakout board (P/N: 2117341) to program it.
This version of the LilyPad now uses the new ATmega328 at 8MHz. Arduino 0016 supports the Arduino Pro Mini 328/8MHz. Use this setting when using this new LilyPad 328.
Work through the tutorials here to learn how to build all sorts of soft interactive stuff...perhaps fortune telling shirts, jackets that sing when you're squeezed or turn signal equipped cycling wear? Have fun!
Note: A portion of this sale is given back to Dr. Leah Buechley for continued development and education of e-textiles and also to Arduino LLC to help fund continued development of new tools and new IDE features.

Programming
The LilyPad Arduino can be programmed with the Arduino software (download). *Note*, the LilyPad Arduino should only be programmed with software versions 0010 or higher. You can program it with earlier versions, but all of the time related functions will be off (twice as slow as they should be).
The ATmega168V or ATmega328V on the Arduino LilyPad comes preburned with a bootloader that allows you to upload new code to it with the Arduino software. You can also bypass the bootloader and program the ATmega through the ICSP (In-Circuit Serial Programming) header; see these instructions for details.
