The Perfect Instrument

When I started my engineering education, the initial class that really intimidated me was my first laboratory class. At the time, I had little experience with test instruments and was overwhelmed by the breadth of the equipment that was available to me. The lab was filled with oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, high-end multimeters, and much more.

But of all the unfamiliar instruments, there was one I had actually seen before... The Digital Design Lab. This one instrument was the Swiss Army knife of electronics instruments and included a seemingly endless supply of functions from a multiple output DC power supply, to a function generator, a universal counter, a built-in voltmeter, and a solderless breadboard for prototyping. This power combination makes it perfect to build and test circuits in one spot all on one unit.

It's too bad it doesn't come with an oscilloscope, but you can easily have one right on your iPad with the iMSO-104, or in the palm of your hand with the handy handheld digital oscilloscopes. The Design Labs are perfect for workbenches with limited space and also save a good chunk of change when it comes to purchasing multiple pieces of lab equipment.
