Forrest M. Mims III has written more than 60 books about science, lasers, computers and electronics. Many of his books describe electronic circuits and projects that he personally built and tested. He is best known for his famous Engineer's Mini Notebook, first sold in Radio Shack stores.
When he isn't writing books, Forrest does various kinds of scientific research, writes magazine and newspaper articles, and teaches experimental science at the University of the Nations in Hawaii.
Many of our customers have shared with us that Forrest played a huge role in getting them interested in electronics. Many of them still have their copies of Forrest's books.
Forrest was named one of the "50 Best Brains in Science" in 2008 by Discovery Magazine. His consulting clients include the National Geographic Society, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and the National Science Teachers Association.
