CLUB JAMECO DESIGNER PROFILE

Designer Earns Serious Cash with Club Jameco Electronics Kit

Club Jameco's top earner for the fourth quarter of 2012 was Ari Dubinsky, a junior electrical engineering student at California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo. Ari's design of an ornamental cube – the LED Party Dazzler – earned him over $700 in commissions during the first quarter it was available for sale. Hopefully that will be enough pocket change for a semester's supply of pizza.

The 8x8x8 LED cube utilizes code based on Instructables designer CHR and an Arduino UNO for power and programming. "This piece definitely turned some heads," says Dubinsky. "But the next version I'm working on is an interactive version that will explode some heads."

Dubinsky is as passionate about shredding on his guitar and music production as he is about electronics. After he finishes his undergraduate and masters degrees in engineering, he plans to "explode heads" as an audio engineer for stage productions.

We expect his stages will include plenty of giant LED Party Dazzlers. Congratulations Ari! We look forward to many more design successes.
