Synth Kit in Collaboration with KORG

The littleBits library is the easiest electronic construction kit around! Founded by an MIT Media Lab and TED alum, littleBits makes electronic modules with specific functions such as lights, motion and sound. Simply snap them together with magnets to use them for prototyping, learning, and fun. littleBits has won over 20 toy awards on its path to demystify electronics and spark the world's next generation of inventors!

The littleBits Synth Kit is an incredibly powerful, easy to use, modular synthesizer developed in collaboration with KORG. In the kit are 12 modules with specific functions such as signal generators, modifiers, modulators and controllers.

The kit is entirely self-contained allowing you to start performing immediately, right out of the box, and yet powerful enough to connect with an external computer, amplifier or headphones.

Multiple Synth Kits can be used at once to create a massively powerful instrument, and, since it's part of the littleBits system, it can be combined with any other littleBits modules - creating infinite possibilities for audio, visual and sensory experiences.

littleBits - The power of electronics in the hands of everyone.

  • It connects to speakers, headphones and computers
  • It can be used to create your own instruments
  • and it fits into the littleBits modular system for infinite combos of audio, visual and sensory experiences

It is an incredibly POWERFUL, easy to use, modular analog synthesizer.

Leave your friends and family starstruck! Check out our friend, Reggie Watts, rocking out using the Synth Kit.

From the Beatles to Bjork, legendary artists have used analog synthesizers to produce complex sounds and innovative music. For the first time ever, the littleBits Synth Kit will enable anyone to build their own sound machines with little to no engineering or musical knowledge. Included is a handy 35+ page booklet, with step-by-step instructions for 10 great projects like the Keytar and Synth Spin Table. You'll also receive a 9V battery + cable, everything you need to get started right out of the box.

    Other Projects

PITCH SWEEPS - Learn How An Oscillator Works
Turn the main knob on the oscillator to change the pitch. You can select the kind of waveform it produces and then adjust the tuning knob. The "pitch" range goes from being so low that it is unpitched to very high pitches. You can have lots of fun by twisting the pitch knob and "sweeping" through all the frequencies!

KEY PLAYER - Learn How to Play Notes on the Keyboard
A synthesizer is commonly controlled with a keyboard similar to a piano. Each key creates a voltage that represents a note. The octave dial on the keyboard allows you to play in 4 different octaves, changing the range of notes you can play. Use the oscillator to adjust the pitch.

RANDOM VOLTAGE - Have Fun with This Random Sound Generator
Random voltages can produce interesting effects in a synthesizer. The position of the knobs on the micro sequencer affects the range of the random voltages. There's no telling which voltage will be sampled!
