Mr. Tidy Mobile Robot with Gripper
The Mr. Tidy Mobile Robot with Gripper from Dagu is a unique and functional robotic platform well suited for students and hobbyist alike. The array of sensors and a 2DOF arm endow this robot with more than just line following and object avoidance. An open framework makes experimentation and development quick and easy. By monitoring the encoders and current sensors of the robot's motors, numerous functions can be achieved. The wheel encoders allow the robot to measure the speed and distance traveled giving the robot the ability to make a map of an area to improve navigation. Mr. Tidy can be programmed using a free Integrated Development Environments (IDE) from the internet.Features:
- Each front sensor consists of 1 infrared LED and two infrared phototransistors
- Side and rear sensors are similar to the front sensors but have only one phototransistor so their range is about half that of the front sensors
- IR receiver is designed to detect IR light modulated at 38KHz
- Uses a Red, Green, Blue (RGB) LED and a Light Dependant Resistor (LDR) to detect color. Color sensing is achieved by shining different colors of light onto an object
- Each of the 4 motors on the robot are driven by a "H" bridge
- Takes the most appropriate object paw diameter; similar to disposable cups or cans
