Super Simple Low Power AM Radio Project
This kit utilizing minimal components to build a simple tune-able AM radio transmitter. This circuit provides a good introduction to basic RF concepts and leaves plenty of room for the builder to experiment. The output power of the transmitter provides a great opportunity for experiments in signal amplification as well. This circuit provides an alternative usage of the popular 555 timer as an inverter gate used as a relaxation oscillator to generate the carrier signal. Add a small signal diode to create a heterodyne mixer to input the signal to be sent.
To remain within the specifications of part 15 of the FCC regulations keep the antenna under 3 meters (9 feet)
