Sky Writer Wand
Experience Level: Beginner
Project Overview: The Sky Writer Wand has a row of flashing LEDs and when it is waved, you will suddenly see images appear in thin air. Utilizing persistence of vision, the Sky Writer Wand uses a microcontroller chip to generate patterns sent directly to the LEDs. When waved through the air, each section of the image is formed sequentially and your eye will see the full image due to persistence of vision.
This is fun to mount on bicycle wheels or other spinning objects for a unique visual display. Great for science projects or as non-flammable "fireworks." Options are given in the instructions for alternate color patterns and other expansions on the basic idea. Check out what others are saying about the Sky Writer Wand project build!
