Fun Light Switch Box
This is an engaging toy for kids, and even oddly satisfying for some adults. An enclosure holds a number of light bulbs and/or LEDs of different color and appearance. A variety of buttons and switches control the lights.
What is special about the box is that the behavior of the buttons change depending on how the switches are set. Circuits are wired so that each light must be controlled by a momentary button, which prevents a child from leaving the box on and wearing the battery down. You Will Need
- Soldering iron and solder
- Drill press (preferred) or hand drill
- Drill bits (1/4", 9/32", 13/32", 15/32", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", and 13/16")
- X-Acto knife
- Small flat file or triangular file
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Wire cutters, wire strippers, and a small pair of needle nose pliers
- 8x AA batteries
- Double sided foam tape
