Extech Meters Employed in The Gulf of Mexico

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has certainly shaken all of us. While the country holds its breath, the Environmental Protection Agency and the US Coast Guard chose Extech meters to monitor the effectiveness of oil dispersants. Preliminary reports suggest that these dispersants have been effective at reducing the amount of oil that reaches the surface. But the problem extends beyond just seeing oil on the surface.

The Extech meters are used to monitor the impact of the dispersants and the dissolved oxygen levels (DO) and the measure of gaseous oxygen (O2) dissolved in the water. We'll keep our fingers crossed on all fronts.
