California Academy of Science - Celebrating Green Technology
Jameco Releases New Electronics Component CatalogBelmont, CA – Jameco Electronics releases a new catalog. The catalog features the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco with a special highlight of its living roof. The San Francisco museum finished its complete renovation and redesign in 2008, including the creation of a living roof. The addition of plant life to the roof as well as other building features were designed to significantly reduce the energy required to both heat and cool the building.
The photograph on the cover of this electronics component catalog was taken from a camera mounted on an 8-foot Rokkaku Kite flying 250 feet above the museum. Rigged with a controller, the kite automatically panned, tilted and triggered the camera every 8 to 10 seconds.
"This cover represents our two important growth segments," said Greg Harris, Vice President of Marketing. "Jameco has seen strong demand from customers designing or redesigning for improved energy consumption, and we've also seen electronics hobbyists like this photographer who are following their electronics passion."
New product additions to the catalog include electronic kits, LED lighting, solar energy products and much more. The catalog is available for free by visiting www.Jameco.com/freecatalog or by calling 1-800-831-4242.
