The Triad FS36-65 is a PC mount Split Pack™ power transformer rated at 2.5 VA, designed for PCB-level power conversion. It has a dual primary configuration supporting both 115 V and 230 V operation at 50 Hz and 60 Hz. The secondary delivers 36 V CT at 65 mA in series, or 18 V at 130 mA in parallel, suiting it to center-tapped supply designs and dual-voltage rectifier circuits.
The Split Pack™ design uses a non-concentric, split bobbin winding - with primaries and secondaries wound side-by-side rather than secondary over primary. This geometry reduces capacitive coupling between windings, eliminating the need for costly electrostatic shielding while maintaining effective inter-winding isolation. The transformer is hi-pot tested at 2,500 VRMS, confirming dielectric integrity between windings. For 115 V operation, connect the dual primaries in parallel; for 230 V operation, connect them in series - as defined in the pin connection table.
The FS36-65 mounts directly to a PCB via 8 PC terminal pins with precise spacing for accurate board placement. The body measures 1 3/8 in (L) x 1 1/8 in (W) x 1 3/16 in (H) and weighs 0.30 lb. Mounting holes are not available on this 2.5 VA unit. Before specifying, verify the required wiring configuration for both primary and secondary, confirm PCB pin spacing compatibility using dimensions A, B, and C, and ensure load current does not exceed the rated output for the chosen secondary configuration.
