Overview
The highest operating temperature of Nichrome 60 is 1150°C (2100°F). It has excellent form stability, good oxidation qualities, and good resistance to corrosion. Except in environments that contain sulfur, the corrosion resistance is good. Heating elements (hair dryers, ovens, toasters, kilns), model and high power rocket motors and recovery ejection charge ignition, heat sealers, polly cutters, foam cutters, resistors, rheostats, current-temperature controls, pyrotechnic ignition, electronic cigarettes, lab inoculating loops, release mechanisms, and ceramic support in kilns are among the lower temperature applications where it works best.
