Overview

The VPP10-5600 is a 56 VA PC-mount power transformer from Triad Magnetics' World Series™ line, designed for through-hole PCB mounting in both domestic and international applications. It accepts a primary input of 115 V or 230 V at 50 or 60 Hz, and delivers a center-tapped secondary configurable as 10 V CT at 5.6 A (series) or 5 V at 11.2 A (parallel). This flexibility suits rectifier and linear power supply designs requiring low-voltage, higher-current outputs with a center tap reference.

The dual bobbin construction uses an insulating shroud - both made from high-temperature material that exceeds UL flammability requirements - providing very high isolation between primary and secondary windings and between each winding and the core. The dual bobbin construction effectively reduces capacitance, so electrostatic shielding is not required. The transformer is hi-pot tested at 4,000 VRMS, confirming robust dielectric isolation for designs where safety and regulatory compliance are critical.
