Overview

The VPS24-1000 is a chassis mount, 25 VA power transformer from Triad Magnetics' World Series™ line. It accepts a primary voltage of 115 V or 230 V at 50 or 60 Hz, making it suitable for both domestic and international mains. The secondary is configurable: in series, it delivers 24 V CT at 1.0 A; in parallel, it delivers 12 V at 2.0 A. This flexibility supports a range of low-voltage AC power supply designs, including those requiring a center-tapped output for full-wave rectification.

The VPS24-1000's dual bobbin design physically separates the primary and secondary windings within an insulating shroud constructed with UL approved high temperature material. This configuration results in minimal inter-winding capacitance, eliminating the need for electrostatic shielding. Both the primary and secondary are electrically isolated from each other and from the core, which is important in safety-critical or noise-sensitive applications. The transformer has been hi-pot tested at 4,000 VRMS, confirming robust dielectric integrity between windings. Note that both primary and secondary coils may be connected as either series or parallel, but both must be used simultaneously.

For installation, the VPS24-1000 uses quick-connect terminations and is designed for chassis mounting, with a mounting width of 2 3/8 in and a mounting hole size of 3/16 in. The overall footprint is 2 13/16 in (W) x 1 15/16 in (D) x 2 5/16 in (H), with a weight of 1.30 lb.
